BASIC GOALS

In conclusion, the pre-grade level 2 for piano aims to perfect and develop the skills acquired in the previous level, including articulations, dynamics, passing of the thumb, chord execution, major and chromatic scales, and the concept of “speed.” The musical goals for this level include the reinforcement of previous concepts, intervals, accidentals, rests, added values, slurs, dynamics, time modifiers, note values, rhythms, bars, calderón, and music forms.

In addition to these musical goals, the pre-grade level 2 also has behavioral goals, such as punctuality, respect towards the teacher, tidiness and accuracy in the completion of assigned activities, state of the studying materials, homework completion, focusing, music interest shown during the lessons, willingness to learn, and consistency.

The repertoire for this level includes four etudes from Beyer Op.101 and Czerny-Germer vol. 1, four Barotok etudes from Mikrokosmos vol. I, and four pieces from arrangements. By achieving these goals and mastering the repertoire, piano students can advance to the next level with confidence and skill.
