After a huge prelude of preparations and training towards the starting of this fascinating project, the directive team at WKMT is ready to begin the delivery of their regular on-line publications, about Haydn Sonatas.

The articles will cover the technical, harmonic and compositional analysis of Haydn sonatas. We are endeavouring to cover the entire spectrum of his work. Our director Juan Rezzuto is recording all of them in both their solo and trio forms.

Our presentations and galas are the occasions when this pieces are going to be both explained and performed. The events can be organized either as masterclasses, private concerts or public performances

Every recording will be accompanied with a complete analysis, made public through our dual blog. In this way we attempt to welcome your opinions and criticism about our approach while the internet provides us with the best platform to welcome your ideas about how to improve the reach of our project.

Our students at WKMT are also encouraged to study the sonatas as part of their general pianistic training. One of the most wonderful feature of Haydn sonatas is the large spectrum of difficulty they show. We can certainly find pieces ranging almost from GRADE 2 up to Master Degree standard.

We believe Haydn’s work is of fundamental importance for western music. For that reason, our director has taken the challenge of analysing the development of this paradigmatic form: the sonata. This way of structuring the musical speech defined the course of music for centuries since its proper definition. By studying its development thoroughly, we can see in full the way in which the composer experimented with the main previous form, the suite, and synthesized it into this much more compact structure.

We hope you will engage and follow our progress as it happens. Our Haydn Playlist will be regularly updated with the new incorporations…

Welcome to WKMT and most importantly, welcome to our Haydn Project!
