The Course
The idea of playing in front of an audience might sound frightening, but what if we tell you that we can help you make the most out of sharing your music while you have a fantastic time?!
At WKMT, we created this weekend course for piano students interested in growing their confidence in playing their pieces before sitting a grade examination, recording a WKMT exam or playing in front of an audience.
The course is designed and delivered by Daniel Pereira with the collaboration of Juan Rezzuto, founder & director of WKMT London with the collaboration of one or more professionals.
Daniel Pereira: Pianist, Educator, and Researcher
Daniel Pereira boasts an impressive academic lineage, having earned his Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Maryland, USA, and completing his Advanced Piano Degree at the Superior Conservatory of Vigo. His accolades include prestigious awards such as the Moses Haltzmark and the Extraordinary End-of-Professional-Degree Prize. In 2020, he released a critically acclaimed double CD, “90: Scriabin Complete Piano Preludes”, celebrated for its passionate rendition.
Throughout his career, Pereira has engaged in festivals and masterclasses across various countries and has been featured in international media outlets. He has collaborated with esteemed piano maestros and has taught and lectured at events like the IKFEM. His research at the International Piano Archives at Maryland culminated in the publication of his “Pianistic Traditions” project, delving deep into historical pianists and performance techniques.
Beyond his performance career, Pereira has authored books and articles, and has served as the artistic director for international festivals. After residing in the USA and London, he currently holds the position of professor and head of the keyboard department at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Vigo.
Join us in our upcoming course and benefit from Daniel Pereira’s vast experience and expertise.

The WKMT course allows guests to
- Enjoy a fabulous Spanish gastronomical experience
- Enjoy living and studying in two beautiful historic buildings
- Enjoy discovering Mondoñedo, a millenarian city embedded in the history of Spain and Portugal

Adding to the enriching experience of this weekend course, we have a special treat for all our participants.
Friday Concert
On Friday, 27th at 20:00, the maestro Daniel Pereira will be performing a concert at the main hall of Santa Emilia.
Dubbed as the “New Testament” of the repertoire, Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas stand as one of the foundational pillars of music. Through them, the German genius showcases his evolution as a composer, marked by continuous transformation and experimentation. These masterpieces unveil Beethoven’s virtuosity and imagination as a pianist, who was also an exceptional improviser. The program features four of the most renowned sonatas, composed between 1798 and 1806. Their familiar titles were later added by various editors. The piano sonata was the only musical genre Beethoven consistently engaged with throughout his life.
