After having taught for four years around the same area I feel it is the right time to write some lines about my experience so far…
I’m more than grateful to all my students for having allowed me to share so many amazing moments around the instrument I committed my life to: the piano. To have the opportunity of igniting the passion for music in such an amazing array of individuals has filled my life with joy from the very beginning. I had the chance to get to know professionally and even personally people from very different backgrounds including fellow artists, lawyers, accountants, architects and bankers; all of them showing this common and uncontainable passion for music which led them to start their music adventure, sometimes even at a quite advanced point of their lives.
Education is paramount, sometimes I feel I live in an unreal world when I see how all of my students show their gratefulness and dedication towards the lessons we deliver, never failing to make us feel both respected and acknowledged.
Style-wise, I can say that there is no space for stiff framings; we have people interested in almost every single possible music style available. Nevertheless, we try and provide each one of them with solid classical foundations, attitude which, according to our experience, has proven to be the most reliable general approach to pianistic technique. I’m always surprised when my beginners feel so driven by Bartok’s Mikrokosmos and its consistent but yet manageable leveling strategy. It is wonderful to see how music is self-explained and how a well-built pedagogical piece of art is convincing enough by itself.
In other words, this is the reality of my life, an existence committed to music and its promotion. This is West Kensington Music team, we always welcome new members and we will always be happy to incorporate another passionate soul into our ever thriving music family!
