At WKMT, you experience music in its full splendour!

WKMT  London Music Festivals

A Fabulous performance opportunity!

We are very happy to introduce our next London Music Festival.

At WKMT we are pioneering the school festival scene!

Covid-19 left us with no live events, without the chance of attending music events. But now we are back for you to keep on enjoying and performing in our music events in London!

As a piano instructor with over 15 years of experience, I have confirmed the same pattern throughout many students: they need a goal.

Regardless if it is an ABRSM grading examination, a competition or a live performance, they won't show the same amount of work and dedication as opposed if they do have any of the goals aforementioned.

Among the objectives proposed in the previous paragraph, a live performance was mentioned. In the case of WKMT students, this translates into the experience of a Music Festival. This event provides an opportunity for all participants to perform in front of a live audience.

A bonus from this gathering is that WKMT records and films professionally the event for further feedback with their teacher.

Book your participation now for July 10th in London!

Why is it relevant to perform in WKMT festivals for your music education process?

Studying piano is essentially a lonely process. The instrument itself is destined to be mainly a solo instrument, which means the performer usually plays alone. Within the dynamic of the weekly lesson, we have the teacher, the student and the student's parents in the case of the children.
Students don't have a space in which they can interchange ideas, experiences and share common goals within the lesson framing. Festivals are a great moment to give our students the chance to mingle and meet people with similar interests.

Playing before a live audience develops confidence. It is a powerful medium to beat bashfulness and boost your morale.
With children, it is vital to be aware that these skills will transfer into other life experiences in their future: a job interview, a public speech, etc.

Whenever is a goal set, the student will push harder than ever to achieve it and favour concentration and stamina in their studies; the understanding that when we play live, we expose ourselves and this situation makes the student give the best they can.
Throughout the years we have verified that the students who perform in our festivals increase their study time 50% more than the students who don't.

What happens at WKMT Festivals?

WKMT has been hosting their festivals for almost seven years, and they turned out to be the highlight of WKMT events.

It is a captivating gathering where every one of our students and loved ones will enjoy.

We start with a reception with a comprehensive assortment of appetisers and drinks such as prosecco, wine and soft drinks for the children, where students and their guests can talk and mingle and with our Director Mr Juan Rezzuto as well as the WKMT teaching staff.

After the reception, the performers will go to the practice room where they will find a haven to practise before their performances and to concentrate in a relaxed environment. Lots of encouragement among the students will naturally happen, as per the experience of previous years.

After every performance, they can sit at the main auditorium to appreciate the music of their fellow piano performers.

Every performance is professionally recorded by our sound engineer and filmed with three 4-K definition cameras. Every student will receive a personalised video.

Event Programme

Because of the recent situation of the COVID-19, the government decreed a lockdown to stop the spreading of this disease. Due to this new situation, we are in need to change the setting to continue with WKMT biannual festival. We have adjusted to the original context, and now the new festival will be "WKMT festival from home!"

How does it work?

1.- We use the zoom App. Through this, we can host a virtual meeting up to 50 people. The festival will split into adults and children.

2.- The participants will contact Victor by mail to to inform their intention to participate. All performers will be provided by a password to access the event online.

3.- Before the event, a WKMT member will contact you and refine all details of the steps you should follow in the day, such as the setting of the web camera, the participant etiquette during the performance, etc.

4.- From the comfort of your home, you can watch the entire festival. Spectators can watch the event via our website while participants play using the ZOOM app.

5.- Our director will introduce every performer while the rest will be put in mute, so the performances are not disturbed by background noises.

Advantages of an online celebration

Advantages of an online celebration

We will be the first institute in the entire of the UK to hold a music festival of this size on the web, and the participants will become pioneers! This opportunity is especially meaningful for those whose family and friends are far or live in other cities or countries.

Due to the lockdown life turned out to be dull for many. Taking an interest in the celebration, having that day set apart on the schedule, can remove us from that repetitive everyday practice; rehearsing for this exceptional occasion, picking the garments we are going to wear, cleaning up and tidying up the room a little?

At WKMT, we generally attempt to adjust to the things that life brings us. What's more, we are delighted to have the option to offer a little bliss making music with you.
