Open Strings

Here we can see the names of the open strings of the guitar, and their place  on the piano (see "how to tune your guitar with a piano" in "Guitar basics") and the notes of the open strings on the staff.

Notes on the fretboard

The diagram below shows the names of the NOTES, on the guitar fretboard. These notes are permanent and you must memorize them over the entire fretboard. Remember, the notes repeat, every twelfth fret.
